New Dance Program
Spring semester begins January 11th.
As part of an expansion of a theatre arts curriculum offered to Wimberley and the surrounding communities, Lee Colee’ Studios is adding dance classes to her roster of voice, vocal performance and acting instruction.
Intensive coaching in ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap classes will be given to both youth and teens/adults.
Former professional prima ballerina from Chicago, Pam Shultz and Houston dancer Amanda Forsyths will be part of the team bringing a comprehensive dance program to Wimberley’s aspiring “triple threats.”
In today’s music and entertainment industry, performers must be able to navigate a career requiring the multiple skills and talents in voice, dance and acting.
For the former dancer or beginner wanting to dance for fitness and enjoyment working out to good blues music is a personal favorite pastime that Colee’ recommends. She personally teaches a jazz/stretch class using the blues for continued inspiration. Tap dancing is another one of her personal stress busters and her adult students will be performing in their first “recital” this month.
Colee’ teasingly hopes to coax students to “relive their Ginger Rodgers and Fred Astair dreams or indulge their inner dance diva.” Fun is the priority while learning proper dance techniques, increasing full range of movement, physical stamina, flexibility and balance.
Lee Colee’ has offered voice, piano, and acting classes in Wimberley for the past 10 years. She has directed 9 summer musical theatre boot camps for kids to sell out audiences as well as numerous productions for the Wimberley Players including “Dracula,” “1776,” “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” and many others.
