INTRO TO THE PERFORMING ARTS!
For ages 7 to 10 and pre teens 11-14
An hour and a half weekly class that introduces the fundamentals in
VOICE, MUSIC THEORY, DANCE AND ACTING
SINGING: Learn to sing with proper pitch, breath control and projection!
Discover harmony singing, sight reading and ear training
DANCE: Discover the building blocks of posture, flexibility, rhythm and
emotional expression through movement to music. Ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap basics along with partner dances for fun.
ACTING: Have fun discovering improv, pantomime, speaking with projection
and clarity. Learn to create characters and make them real!
This class is a great way to prepare for in depth training in the performing arts!
Also develops a love for experiencing the arts as a discerning patron and builds
confidence in personal self expression.
A 16 week program offered twice a year, each student will have the option to
perform a solo vocal, dance or monologue in the annual student showcase
concert in the spring and be considered for casting in various productions
at Lee Colee’ Studios and The Black Diamond Cabaret Theatre.
TWO LOCATIONS: Wimberley Studio & The Price Center in San Marcos
TUITION: $100.00 per month (covers all class materials-books, music)
(Limited enrollment to insure individual mentoring)
REQUIREMENTS: Students must have yoga or workout pants/t shirt and socks or
leotard and tights. Ballet shoes, tap shoes. A 3 ring loose leaf
binder, several pencils and water bottle. Hair must be secured
away from face. No bare legs or feet.
